A Message from Our CEO Mark Minasian

To all of our valiant front line workers,

I want to take a moment to personally thank each and every one of you for the incredible work you do every day, and especially in these days.

Normally people don’t often think about the work we do.  Now, people think of the work we do every day, and they are learning what we at KBS have known for a long time…that the KBS family is made up of the best, hardest working and most dedicated service workers in the country.  We do the essential work that keep our communities safe, clean and sanitary every day, and in these times our work is more important than ever. I am incredibly proud of you and the work you are doing.  Keep up the great work!

For our brothers and sisters who have recently been put out of work due to stores or locations closing, please know this: you are not forgotten.  We are literally working around the clock, seven days a week to find you replacement work. While some customers have closed, others need more service. Keep in touch with your supervisor. Check in often. I promise you that I, and every leader in the company, is working hard to get you back to work as fast as possible.

May God bless and keep you and your families safe, strong and healthy. However long it takes, we will get through this together, and we will come out stronger.

Warmest regards,

Mark

What KBS is doing

KBS is on the front lines doing our part to help keep you, our customers and their patrons safe.

Our KBS COVID-19 Response Team is working day and night to help prevent the spread of the virus. We are equipped with teams and supplies to provide additional services to our customers, while making sure you have what you need to stay safe and healthy.

As always, we are following guidance from national and federal health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), for proper cleaning protocol and protection.

We are rapidly ramping up additional cleanings in some locations, while moving employees to new work in other locations. Regardless of the challenges, we remain committed to you and our customers during this challenging time.

What To Do If You Are Sick

If you are sick, don’t come to work!

If you feel sick, or believe that you have symptoms of the coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath or otherwise have difficulty breathing) or have come into contact with someone who is suspected of having coronavirus, you must call or email:

Rose Sosa, Health & Safety Lead (COVID-19) at 1-760-529-8229 or rosamaria.sosa@kbs-services.com.

Your name will be kept confidential. It is critical that you notify Rose so we can take the appropriate measures to protect other employees.

Out of Work or Finding New Opportunities

Many of our customers are closing locations because of the COVID-19 coronavirus and that may impact you and where you work. We understand you are worried about your job, and we want you to know that we are working hard to make sure all of our employees continue to have steady work. If you have been affected by one of these closures, we will do our best to find you work at another location.

Many customers are asking for additional cleanings or new services, so there are other opportunities available. If your work at a location has ended or is on hold, please keep in touch with your supervisor so he or she can help move you to another location.

In the event we are unable to find you work, here are three things you can do immediately:

  • Use Sick time – If you have sick time, you may use it to continue to be paid while not working at an assignment. You will need to let your supervisor know to submit the sick time request to the payroll department.
  • Use Vacation time – If you have vacation time, you may use it to continue to be paid while not working at an assignment. You will need to let your supervisor know to submit the vacation time request to the payroll department.
  • Apply for Unemployment Pay – During this period, most states have lessened the requirements for getting unemployment benefits, are waiving waiting periods, and you do not have to be terminated from employment to take advantage of their unemployment benefits. In most cases, you will be able to collect unemployment temporarily until you return to work. Click here for a reference guide by state for Unemployment Benefits information.

Our goal is to keep our employees working. However, if you do experience a temporary reduction in hours, to get you back to work at full capacity as quickly as possible.
